about
Hello again friends of the band Body
it’s holiday weekend time for a bit rest and recreation. so to help you enjoy the break pour yourself a glass of wine or beer sit-down and enjoy today’s piece of music called “Sunset over the Mersey “ The song and video is a homage to my hometown of Crosby near Liverpool birthplace of the band Body and family home for over 60 years
Inspiration for the song and video came from the artist Sir Anthony Gormley creation”Another Place” which is 100 Iron men erected on Crosby beach looking out to sea ,staring at the horizon in “silent expectation”
Also by a Facebook page created by Mike Shaw called
I’m at Crosby beach and the weather is………
Over the years the membership has grown, with so many talented members sharing beautiful and imaginative photographs of our waterfront incorporating the Iron men and amazing sunsets
Were so lucky living by the River Mersey with our own micro climate we truly can experience four seasons in one day
The video “Sunset over the Mersey” was compiled with photographs from
I’m at Crosby beach and the weather is…..Facebook page thank you fellow members for your inspiration love and support to help make this video
until the next time take care ✌️
lyrics
Orange glow across the pool
as the Sun goes down
City looking good the air feels cool now
Hypnotised as the ships go by
I watch the tide forever changing
This city river ebbs and flows
with memories that fade and go
…..
I’m looking out on a sunset going down
River Mersey leads to my hometown
where friends I know still live and come around
we share the same dreams my hometown
…..
Orange glow across the pool
as the Sun goes down
City looking good the skyline’s changing
hypnotised as the clouds pass by
I watch the skies forever changing
…..
I’m looking out on a sunset going down
(I’m looking)
River Mersey leads to my hometown
(I’m really looking)
Where friends I know still live and come around
(I’m really looking)
we share the same dreams my hometown
repeat
….………
Your open eyes open causeways
The partings redder
…..
Orange glow across the pool
Liver Birds are in the sky
Heroes playing on the park
the art of comedy still thrives
Buildings changing everywhere
creatures dance above the waves
Canning lock the Albert Dock
a culture festival of change
…..
I’m looking out on a sunset going down
(I’m looking)
River Mersey leads to my hometown
(I’m really looking)
friends I know still live and come around
(I’m really looking)
we share the same dreams my hometown
repeat
………….
See your faces - I’m looking out on
I open my eyes
Looking out on a sunset going down
Got a feeling
looking out on a sunset going down
I’m looking out on a sunset going down
(Im looking)
River Mersey leads to my hometown
(Im really looking)
friends I know still live and come around
(Im really looking)
we share the same dream my hometown
Your open eyes , open causeway
The parting here
…………….
Your Body next to mine
